How It Works
Place your order and secure your build slot. We'll confirm within 24 hours and let you know your estimated build window.
Your kitchen is hand-built to order in our workshop. This typically takes 1–4 weeks depending on the season. We'll send you progress photos as it takes shape.
Your kitchen ships fully built via pallet delivery. Expect 3–5 working days to mainland UK. You'll need a second pair of hands to move it into your garden — it's solid, which is rather the point.
Care & Maintenance
Rain, mud, sand, water — that's what it's for. You don't need to wipe it down after every play session. A rinse with the hose now and then will keep it looking good.
We'd recommend a coat of child-safe wood oil once a year, ideally in spring. This isn't essential — the Redwood will survive without it — but it helps maintain the colour and keeps the grain nourished.
[Confirm your recommended product, e.g. Osmo UV Protection Oil or similar]
Left untreated, your kitchen will gradually weather to a soft silver-grey. This is completely normal and doesn't affect the strength of the timber. Many customers prefer the weathered look — it settles beautifully into a garden.
Redwood is naturally smooth-grained, which is why we chose it for all playing surfaces. Over time, minor surface splintering can occur — a quick once-over with fine-grit sandpaper (120–180 grit) sorts it out in seconds.

Common Questions
Everything else you might want to know.
What wood do you use?
We use a redwood timber for the touch points and a C24 CLS for the frame. Its ready to paint or oil any colour you like, or leave it as is.
Is it treated or finished?
The redwood is naturally rot resistant so no pressure treatment required. You are welcome to oil or paint your mud kitchen for additional protection and your own customisation.
Can it stay outside all year round?
Yes, is designed to live outdoors permanently.
Do I need to assemble anything?
No, we will do everything for you. The only thing you need to do is place it somewhere in your garden on sturdy ground.
How big is it? Will it fit in my garden?
- Width: approx. 1530 mm
- Depth: approx. 570 mm
- Worktop height: child-friendly (around 600 mm)
- Full-height backboard from ground level - 1100mm approx.
What age is it suitable for?
Usually between ages 3 and 10
How long does delivery take?
It takes around 3 to 5 days for mainland UK delivery once your build is finished.
How does delivery work?
We use a pallet collection company to collect your mud kitchen from our farm and they will deliver it to you including a tracking system so that you can always track your delivery.
What if it gets damaged in delivery?
Please inspect your item as soon as it arrives and let us know if any defects should arise. We do everything we can to ensure that your mud kitchen is packed as safely as possible to reduce the likelihood of damage.
Do you offer returns?
As we built to order, we don't offer returns.
Can I customise my kitchen?
At the moment we don't offer customisation ourselves, but you are most welcome to paint or oil your kitchen as soon as it arrives.
Is the wood safe for children?
We put a lot of car into sanding and preparing our kitchens before they go out to you although splinters are always a possibility with wood.
Can I visit your workshop?
Yes, you can. Please send us a message beforehand so that we can be sure to welcome you.
Do you deliver outside mainland UK?
We may be able to deliver outside of mainland UK. Please send us a message if you would like to do this as additional shipping costs may be applicable.
